Written and directed by David Campion, 'STRAIGHT THROUGH CREW' is a contemporary British indie drama set in a rural village on Christmas Eve. A group of friends gear up for a local rave, but as the night progresses, feelings and substances collide, shifting the group’s dynamic in unexpected ways.
Filmed on a zero budget and rooted in personal experience, the film blends themes of youth, friendship, loss, and escapism.
Some words from the director:
“I hit my thirties and had one of those pre mid-life crisis moments – I lost my father, had a few panic attacks and realised I hadn’t made a film in a while. The world felt like a hellfire, so I started writing something comforting and close to my heart,” said director David Campion.
“The events in the film are drawn from my own experiences. I wanted to capture the energy of youth and hedonism, but inject it with the sadness I felt at the time – like HUMAN TRAFFIC if it had been directed by Ingmar Bergman.”
