The official trailer for British drama ‘SIGNS OF LIFE’ has been released ahead of its UK cinema release on 5 September 2025 through Bulldog Film Distribution.
Directed by Joseph Millson, making his feature directorial debut, the film stars Sarah-Jane Potts (Kinky Boots, Waterloo Road, Holby City) as Anne, a woman left mute by overwhelming grief and depression. Hoping to find peace, she sets off on a low-cost solo holiday. But her journey takes a turn when she’s faced with squalor, danger, and uncertainty in an unfamiliar place. With nowhere to stay, she ends up sleeping rough — until a chance encounter with another lone traveller, played by David Ganly (Moon Knight, Obituary), leads to an unexpected connection.
What follows is a series of surprising, often humorous events between two strangers who are both carrying emotional weight. Whether their meeting leads to healing or collapse becomes the heart of the story.
‘SIGNS OF LIFE’ won Best Feature at both the London Independent Film Festival and Berlin Indie Film Festival, signalling a strong start for Millson’s directing career. The film explores themes of mental health, isolation, human connection, and recovery with quiet drama and subtle humour.
Millson is best known to audiences for his acting roles in Holby City, The Last Kingdom, and Angel Has Fallen, while Ganly and Potts bring emotional depth to characters caught between breakdown and transformation.
‘SIGNS OF LIFE’ will open in select UK cinemas from 5 September 2025.
