A new British horror, 'EMERALD COTTAGE,' is on the way from writer-director
Jason M.J. Brown (‘GHOST TRACK,’ ‘CREEP ENCOUNTERS’) and producer Peter Watson, shot on location in rural England. Set at the end of World War II, the film blends folk-horror textures with tense, character-led psychological dread.
Outline: Nancy (Charlotte Wallis), an undertaker’s assistant, accepts an unexpected job in a remote cottage to prepare the body of a young girl who died under mysterious circumstances. Alone with the body and far from home, Nancy begins to realise that nothing is quite what it seems.
Front and centre is Charlotte Wallis as Nancy, a recent DSL grad and Lilian Baylis Award winner. She’s joined by Emmy winner Sean Kanan ('THE KARATE KID PART III', 'COBRA KAI'), Rafe Bird ('THE SHAMROCK SPITFIRE', 'RIPPER’S REVENGE'), and award-winning newcomer Kitty Sudbery ('THE MEMORY TIN', 'CINDERELLA’S CURSE'), with Imogen Archer and Darren Randall rounding out the cast.
Behind the camera, writer-director Jason Brown—a Nottinghamshire indie-horror voice drawing on local folklore—teams with cinematographer Paul Barker, producer Peter Watson, and associate producer Sadie Kime. Brown’s previous low-budget horrors, streaming in the UK and US, are known for atmospheric storytelling and inventive camerawork.
