Following their successful collaboration on the gothic horror 'THE BABY IN THE BASKET,' Flickering Myth and Shepka Productions have wrapped filming on their latest project, the suspense horror-thriller 'DEATH AMONG THE PINES.'
Written by acclaimed genre screenwriter Tom Jolliffe ('Renegades,' 'Cinderella’s Revenge'), the film stars Nicolette McKeown ('Mercy Falls,' 'Damaged'), Nathan Shepka ('When Darkness Falls,' 'Dead Before They Wake'), Stephen Kerr ('The Defender,' 'The Reign of Queen Ginnarra'), and Olly Bassi ('Dick Dynamite: 1944,' 'Masters of the Air'). Nathan Shepka returns as director following his 2025 hits 'DEAD BEFORE THEY WAKE' and 'THE BABY IN THE BASKET,' with production led by Flickering Myth CEO Gary Collinson.
Set in a remote farmhouse in Scotland, the thriller follows housewife Angela (McKeown), whose quiet evening takes a sinister turn when a mysterious stranger (Shepka) arrives seeking refuge from a storm. Angela grows increasingly suspicious upon learning of a police manhunt for an escaped murderer, complicated further by a police officer’s questions about her mysteriously absent husband Eddie (Bassi).
Director Nathan Shepka expressed excitement about the project, stating: “We are excited to be teaming up with Flickering Myth and Tom Jolliffe again on a tense, tightly wound thriller geared for streaming audiences. The hope was that 'THE BABY IN THE BASKET' would be the start of many fruitful collaborations.”
Flickering Myth’s Gary Collinson added, “We look forward to sharing more details and insights into 'DEATH AMONG THE PINES' with audiences over the coming months.”
'’DEATH AMONG THE PINES' is now in post-production with a release scheduled for early 2026. An IndieGogo campaign is currently active to raise additional finishing funds, offering digital bundles, special thanks credits, and producer packages.
