Cinephobia Releasing will release 'BRUTE 1976', a new horror feature from director Marcel Walz ('THAT'S A WRAP') and writer Joe Knetter ('GEORGE A. ROMERO'S TWILIGHT OF THE DEAD'), this August in select US cinemas, followed by a digital and VOD release on 26 August 2025.
An homage to ‘70s horror cult classics THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE and THE HILLS HAVE EYES, 'BRUTE 1976' follows Raquel and her girlfriend who break down in the middle of nowhere. At the same time, a group of people are in the desert for a photoshoot — but soon stumble upon an abandoned town inhabited by a family of masked psychopaths.
'BRUTE 1976' stars Adriane McLean, Sarah French, Gigi Gustin, Dazelle Yvette, and Adam Bucci.
Cinephobia President Raymond Murray said: “BRUTE 1976 is bloody and sexy, with a deranged family so demented they make John Waters’s PINK FLAMINGOS look like a paradigm of family values.”
