'RED PATH' is coming to UK cinemas from Friday 20 June, released by Sovereign Films.
Three preview screenings will also feature as part of the SAFAR Film Festival, taking place on 11, 12 and 13 June at Hull Independent Cinema, Ciné Lumière, and MAC Birmingham.
'RED PATH' premiered last August at the Locarno Film Festival in the Cineasti del Presente competition, where it was praised for its unflinching depiction of ongoing conflicts in the region.
Since its debut, the film has travelled widely on the international festival circuit, earning the Audience Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and winning both the Gold Yusr for Best Film and Best Director at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
Directed by Lotfi Achour, and based on a real incident that took place in the harsh mountain landscape of Tunisia, 'RED PATH' follows young shepherd Achraf on a dreamlike journey through trauma and resilience, after the death of his cousin.
Featuring an acclaimed breakout performance by Ali Hleli, 'RED PATH' combines striking photography with a haunting atmosphere to shed light on the realities of rural life and conflict.
