Filmed on-location in Los Angeles, ICONIC dives headfirst into the chaotic world of beauty influencers and internet fame. When Rose, a rising star in the cosmetic scene, is blamed for disfiguring another influencer, her world starts to unravel. As her online following turns on her and a stalker begins to close in, Rose meets Lily—and the two fall into a violent, toxic love affair.
Visually striking and emotionally raw, ICONIC takes viewers down a spiralling rabbit hole of paranoia, drugs, jealousy, and obsession, set to the backdrop of a crumbling public persona. With surreal flourishes and grounded psychological tension, it’s a fierce debut from writer/director Matthew Freiheit.
