A twisted and original new Brazilian horror, 'A MOTHER’S EMBRACE' comes to UK and Ireland digital platforms on 10 November, courtesy of Blue Finch Films.
Set in 1996 Rio de Janeiro, the story follows a young firefighter (Marjorie Estiano) and her team, called to evacuate an old people’s home during the worst storm the city has ever faced. As floodwaters rise, they soon discover something far more sinister lurking beneath the surface – and the residents aren’t as innocent as they seem. Entangled in their web, the firefighter must also confront her own traumatic past to survive the night.
Written and directed by Cristian Ponce ('HISTORY OF THE OCCULT', 'THE KRILIAN FREQUENCY'), 'A MOTHER’S EMBRACE' premiered at the Sitges Film Festival and went on to screen at the Glasgow Film Festival, receiving critical acclaim for its chilling atmosphere and psychological depth.
