Ruby’s freshman year of college doesn’t go as planned. A series of events send her on a downward emotional spiral, marked by vivid dreams and the arrival of a glamorous alter ego who begins to live a life of her own.
Written and directed by Lauren Loesberg, ‘YEAR ONE’ explores mental health, identity, and the pressures of student life. Filmed on Northwestern University’s campus, the story is inspired by Loesberg’s own experiences.
