Trailer for ‘I AM BASEBALL’ has arrived as part of Third Window Films’ New Directors From Japan line-up.
Written and directed by Takashi Ono, ‘I AM BASEBALL’ was released at Tokyo’s Cinema Rosa on 19 August 2023, where it became a long-running success and continued playing in Japanese cinemas for more than a year. The film is part of a limited edition set of four films from the director.
Despite his young age and limited budgets, Ono’s filmmaking style in ‘I AM BASEBALL’ and his earlier student work is noted for recreating the late Showa era in a playful and charming way.
Synopsis: ‘I AM BASEBALL’ is a 60-minute Japanese feature from Takashi Ono, included in Third Window Films’ New Directors From Japan selection. The film became a notable success at Cinema Rosa, a venue closely associated with independent Japanese cinema and long-run word-of-mouth hits.
