Trailer for ‘SCARBORN’ has arrived ahead of the film’s UK premiere on Viaplay UK on 27 April 2026.
Inspired by true events and set in spring 1794, the period drama follows Ignac, an illiterate serf who sets out to prove his noble heritage, only to become caught up in a rebellion led by General Tadeusz “Kos” Kościuszko.
Directed by Paweł Maślona, the film stars Bartosz Bielenia, Jacek Braciak, Jason Mitchell, Robert Więckiewicz, Andrzej Seweryn, Piotr Pacek and Agnieszka Grochowska. Distributed by Viaplay International, ‘SCARBORN’ is a historical drama about freedom, equality and the choice between personal ambition and a greater cause.
Winner of the Golden Lion for Best Film at the Gdynia Film Festival, the film also picked up awards for Best Editing, Best Makeup and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Więckiewicz, alongside several other festival honours and a Directors Guild of Poland nomination.
Synopsis: In 18th-century Poland, Ignac, an illiterate serf and illegitimate noble son, embarks on a desperate journey to prove his heritage. But as the country moves towards rebellion, he is drawn into the orbit of General Kościuszko and forced to choose between his own dream of nobility and the fight for freedom and equality.
