Trailer – Following its US release in June, 'THE CURSE' is now set for release on digital platforms in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand from 13 July 2026 via Blue Finch Films.
Directed by Kenichi Ugana, 'THE CURSE' is a supernatural horror that pays homage to J-horror classics including 'RINGU' and 'JU-ON'.
The film follows Riko, a young Tokyo receptionist who begins investigating the violent death of her friend. Convinced there is more to the story than suicide, she delves into social media, memes and influencer culture in search of answers.

🎬 Synopsis: 'THE CURSE' follows Riko, a young Tokyo receptionist who decides to investigate her friend’s violent death.
Convinced there is more to the story than suicide, Riko searches through social media and enters a world of memes, influencers and online clues.
As the bodies begin to pile up, Riko and her friends travel to Taiwan to uncover the source of a supernatural curse before it consumes her.
The film had its World Premiere at Fantastic Fest 2025, where it won the Best Kill award, and later had its UK Premiere at FrightFest Glasgow.
