Equalize Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for 'RISE OF THE RATS', a British punk creature horror directed by Stephen Roach and written by Rob Howgate.
When the rats bite… she bites harder.
The film follows Kayla Thornhill, a rebellious punk who joins her estranged dad, Jack, on a trip to his home village of Ditchfield. What she finds is a village crawling with secrets, lies and a relentless rat infestation.
As the locals grow evasive and the streets empty, Kayla begins to uncover whispers of a brutal act from the past. From the darkness emerges Rat-Man, a grotesque manifestation of the town’s guilt and violence, unleashing swarms of bloodthirsty rats and revenge.
Inspired by 1980s horror classics including 'THE LOST BOYS', 'A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET' and 'GREMLINS', 'RISE OF THE RATS' blends creature effects, dark humour and punk rebellion into a distinctly British horror nightmare.
The film stars Grace Gallagher as Kayla, Adrian Annis as Jack Thornhill, Mark Collier as Leonard Grimes and Tania Staite as Becky Prescott.
'RISE OF THE RATS' is produced by Equalize Entertainment, with worldwide sales handled by Black Mandala. The film has completed post-production and is preparing for its festival premiere ahead of a wider release.
