A new British drama project is taking shape in Birmingham with 'SURVIVING IN BABYLON', a grounded story set on a council estate in the late 1980s.
Created by Birmingham-based filmmaker Courtney Sharpe, the project explores trauma, belonging, family, influence and the choices that can shape a young person's life.
The newly released proof-of-concept trailer offers an early look at the world and tone of the project as it moves into its next stage of professional development.
'SURVIVING IN BABYLON' began life as a feature screenplay before being redeveloped as a television drama. Sharpe has since written a complete ten-episode first season alongside a Series Bible, Season Arc, Visual Development Archive and wider development package.
The project has already completed an initial crowdfunding campaign, with its original £3,300 target reached. A Late Pledge campaign is now open to support further professional development, including script consultation, production planning, casting direction, location scouting, pitch development and industry outreach.
