An ageing Irish couple's final attempt to escape financial ruin turns into a fight for survival in 'LIE OF THE LAND', arriving on North American Digital HD, DVD, cable and satellite platforms on October 23, 2026 through Freestyle Digital Media.
Directed by John Carlin and written by Tara Hegarty, the contained thriller follows Kath and Matthew Ward, an ageing couple whose family farm is falling apart after years of bad investments and mounting financial pressure.
With little hope of continuing to farm, the pair place their faith in the charismatic Gabriel Shepherd, who offers them the chance to leave Ireland behind and begin a new life abroad, free from debt.
But Shepherd's plan requires the last of their money โ a cash inheritance left to Kath by her recently deceased mother. When the couple begin having second thoughts, they realise the man offering them a way out may never have been on their side.
What begins as an attempt to escape their old life becomes a desperate struggle to protect each other and the home they were prepared to abandon.
