The festival trailer has arrived for 'THE FIXED MARK', a 35-minute supernatural psychological thriller from writer and director Spencer Jay Kim.
The film centres on Nathan “Rainn”, a traumatised 13-year-old orphan who is brought in for evaluation after attempting to warn others about a devastating event before it happens.
Forensic psychologist Dr. Elias Ward expects to encounter a vulnerable child struggling with grief and trauma. Instead, Rainn begins revealing details that seem impossible for him to know.
As Dr. Ward questions him, the boundaries between trauma, memory, time and the supernatural begin to blur, forcing the psychologist to consider an unsettling possibility: what if Rainn is telling the truth?
Alex Lizzul stars as Rainn alongside Malek Hanna as Dr. Elias Ward, with Danielle Nicolet, Danny Fehsenfeld, Nancy Telzerow and writer-director Spencer Jay Kim also featuring in the cast.
Beneath its supernatural mystery, 'THE FIXED MARK' explores childhood trauma, grief, domestic abuse and the consequences of failing to listen to vulnerable young people. The film was shot in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio, using tightly controlled framing to heighten Rainn's sense of isolation and psychological pressure.
The short is beginning its 2026 festival run and is also scheduled to hold a private industry screening during the 2026 American Film Market in Los Angeles this November.
