'THE CULL', a new British independent folk horror filmed in Cornwall, will receive its World Premiere at Tubi FrightFest Halloween on Friday, October 30, 2026.
Written and directed by J.P. Davidson, the film stars Craig Russell as Niall, a man wrongly imprisoned for his mother's murder who is released after years behind bars.
Having found God and renounced a life of violence and addiction, Niall retreats to a remote woodland cabin seeking redemption and answers about his mother's death. Instead, he encounters a hostile community ruled by a ruthless family, with every confrontation drawing him deeper into the mystery surrounding his past.
As brutal violence erupts and terrifying visions blur the line between nightmare and reality, Niall uncovers a sinister legacy of witchcraft, blood sacrifice and forbidden ritual. His release, it seems, was no coincidence — something has been waiting in the forest.
'THE CULL' was shot in Cornwall and makes extensive use of local talent, with a cast that includes Ollie McFarlane, Tim Cartwright, Sarah White, Kate Edney, Sally Geake, Richard Hainsworth and Rory Wilton.
The film is produced by Cornish-based producer Catherine Laine, with Fintan Finnan and Amy Davidson serving as associate producers.
