'CHILDREN OF THE WICKER MAN', a deeply personal documentary exploring the making and legacy of one of Britain's most celebrated cult films, arrives exclusively in UK cinemas on October 23, 2026.
Directed by the late Justin Hardy and written by his brother Dominic Hardy, the film follows the sons of filmmaker Robin Hardy as they investigate the extraordinary story behind their father's 1973 folk horror classic 'THE WICKER MAN'.
More than fifty years after the film first shocked cinemagoers, Justin and Dominic discovered six sacks of material hidden in the attic of their former family home.
Inside were scripts, personal letters, on-set photographs, storyboards and other documents connected to the making of 'THE WICKER MAN'.
The discovery sends the brothers on a journey through the creation and enduring legacy of their father's film, while also confronting the impact they believe it had on their own family.
Directed by Robin Hardy and written by Anthony Shaffer, 'THE WICKER MAN' went on to become one of Britain's most enduring cult films, with star Christopher Lee regarding it among the most important films of his career.
Following a successful international festival run, 'CHILDREN OF THE WICKER MAN' now receives its UK theatrical release exclusively in cinemas.
Following the passing of director Justin Hardy, screenings will be accompanied by an introduction and Q&A from producer Dr Christopher Nunn.
The theatrical release also coincides with the publication of the paperback edition of the 'CHILDREN OF THE WICKER MAN' book through History Press.
