'BREAKUP SEASON', the award-winning holiday dramedy starring Chandler Riggs and Samantha Isler, is available now across digital and streaming platforms through Buffalo 8.
Written and directed by H. Nelson Tracey, the film takes the familiar Christmas homecoming story and gives it an awkward twist: what happens when you break up with your partner immediately after arriving at their family home for the holidays?
Ben Russell, played by Riggs, brings his girlfriend Cassie from Los Angeles to his rural Oregon hometown to meet his parents and siblings and spend Christmas with them for the first time.
But after a difficult arrival, a late-night conversation ends with the couple breaking up.
Cassie decides to leave, only to discover that winter weather and the remote location have made travelling impossible. She is now stuck spending the rest of Christmas with her newly minted ex — and his entire family.
Blending comedy, drama and romance, 'BREAKUP SEASON' explores young love, heartbreak and the complicated influence family can have when a relationship falls apart.
The film also stars James Urbaniak as Ben's father Kirby, Brook Hogan as his mother Mia, Carly Stewart as younger sister Liz and Jacob Wysocki as older brother Gordon.
'BREAKUP SEASON' enjoyed an extensive festival run, collecting awards for its performances, screenplay, direction and ensemble before its theatrical and digital release.
The film was shot entirely in La Grande, Oregon, with the snowy rural setting playing a central role in its distinctive Christmas atmosphere.
