'AN INTERVIEW WITH BUCKETHEAD', a new British horror-comedy mockumentary from writer-director Matthew Camfield, has released its first teaser trailer.
The 90-minute independent feature follows recently divorced podcaster Martin Mayhew and his assistant Macy Meadows as they form the M&M Mystery Hunters and set out in search of the legendary Buckethead.
Played by Ewen Weatherburn, Buckethead is a seven-foot-tall, axe-wielding monster the pair hope to track down and capture on film.
Accompanied by an enthusiastic but inexperienced film crew, Martin and Macy travel into the dark woods of Hangman Hill expecting to encounter a terrifying creature.
When they finally find Buckethead, however, he does not immediately attack them. Instead, the imposing figure invites the group inside, cooks for them and proves surprisingly hospitable.
That uneasy encounter soon takes a much darker turn as arguments, betrayal and the crew's own actions put everyone at risk.
'AN INTERVIEW WITH BUCKETHEAD' blends horror, dark comedy and mockumentary filmmaking, combining cinematic photography with rougher handheld footage, interviews and increasingly chaotic action.
Camfield cites influences including 'WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS', 'EVIL DEAD', 'BLACKADDER' and the Cornetto Trilogy in shaping the film's darkly comic approach.
The cast includes Ewen Weatherburn as Buckethead, Martyn Spendlove as Martin Mayhew, Sarah France as Macy Meadows, Ketan Majmudar as Sid, James West, Adam Lee and Gary Halliday.
