'THE CARETAKER', the British psychological horror-thriller from writer-director Luke Tedder, is now streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.
Produced independently by Landa Pictures, the character-driven slow-burn horror previously premiered at FrightFest before going on to a select UK cinema run.
Set at the isolated Lockbridge Academy, the film follows Eddie, played by Ben Probert, a mute man burdened with caring for his cruel and ailing mother.
Facing the prospect of losing his home, Eddie takes a caretaker position at the elite coastal school, which is controlled by the powerful aristocratic Aberdeen family.
There he meets Marie, played by Mackenzie Larsen, a cleaner searching for a second chance. An immediate connection develops between the pair, but their lives become increasingly entangled with a dark mystery hidden within the academy.
As a restless spirit begins to manifest, Eddie and Marie find themselves confronting Lockbridge's violent history and secrets that the Aberdeen family would rather keep buried.
Luke Tedder wrote and directed the film, while also handling cinematography, editing and visual effects.
The cast also includes Scott Hume, Lauren Shotton, P G Pearson, Livvy Dawson, Chris McQuire, Liz Rogers, Dave Morris, Heather Cairns, Noah Carr-Kingsnorth, Hector Baldwin, Alice Corrigan and Emma Graveling.
